About the Fluke Team

Much of what you will find at Fluke comes from the personal experiences of proprietors Jeff and Geremie Callaghan, both Aquidneck Island natives, and Executive Chef Martin Butler, an acclaimed Maryland chef.
Jeff Callaghan’s passion is food and wine. With over 15 years representing premium American and European wines throughout the United States, Jeff looks forward to sharing his interests in niche artisan wines of the highest caliber with you. A graduate of James Madison University in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Jeff’s career has included restaurants and catering in New York and Rhode Island as well as wine sales and brand representation across the US.
Geremie Callaghan worked for several years marketing numerous luxury fragrance and skincare brands in New York City. An avid student of life, Geremie has always enjoyed traveling to explore the world of wine and cuisines around the corner or around the world.
Executive Chef Martin Butler has been making music both on stage and in the kitchen for over a dozen years. Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, Chef Butler received four stars from the Baltimore Sun with the opening of Tapas Teatro in 2001. He is also a talented jazz musician who looks forward to bringing his own style of modern American cuisine to Newport.
Jerri Banks, friend and consultant to the Callaghans, created the Fluke Wine, Bar & Kitchen signature cocktail list. Her innovative use of fresh herbs and exotic flavorings are featured in libations both with and without alcohol. Ms. Banks’ background ranges from top New York restaurants to consultant for brands such as Bacardi and Moét Hennessy. She has been featured in numerous publications such as ‘O’ Magazine, The New York Times and Modern Bride.
